At Childhood Matters, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people. Our child-centred approach ensures their safety, wellbeing and best interests remain at the heart of everything we do.
Our safeguarding practices align with current statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and Working Together to Safeguard Children, and are embedded throughout our policies, culture and everyday practice.
All staff and associates undergo safer recruitment procedures, including enhanced DBS checks, identity verification, right-to-work checks and professional references. They also receive safeguarding induction, regular training and updates to ensure they can confidently recognise and respond to concerns.
We recognise the safeguarding risks children and young people may face, both online and offline, and strive to create safe, supportive environments where everyone feels respected, heard and valued.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Sandra Tibbles, oversees safeguarding across the organisation, ensuring effective procedures, training and quality assurance are maintained.
Where concerns arise, we work closely with families, schools, local authorities and relevant agencies to ensure they are addressed promptly and appropriately.
